National Windscreens has raised over £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which took place on 27th September 2019.
The running total for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2019 so far is £25,760,417. This amount reflects the fantastic effort made throughout the UK on 27th September; an achievement that National Windscreens is incredibly proud to have been a part of.
First launched in 1990 as a small affair, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has grown to be Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. In the 29 years the event has been running, it has raised over £200 million for Macmillan. The money raised helps everyone with cancer by providing emotional, financial, medical and practical help to live life as fully as they can.
National Windscreens raised over £800 at contact centres throughout its national network. The board was so impressed by the efforts and agreed to contribute £400 to the amount raised; the final total is £1,200.
The social committee was thrilled with the outcome:
“We were delighted by the effort put in by all at National Windscreens. Holding the coffee morning was great fun – it was a chance for us all to catch up away from our desks, tucking into delicious cake, all for a brilliant cause.
“It was fantastic to see the whole team get on board and enjoy the experience; the sense of achievement when we counted the total raised was amazing. We’re also very grateful to the board for agreeing to round up the amount raised to £1,200, it’s a very generous gesture.”
This fundraising effort comes after recent news that the contact centre in Bristol raised £2,000 for its ‘charity of the year’ Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. Leigh Weeks, customer service advisor at National Windscreens, also known internally as the ‘charity champion’, has been proudly leading the fundraising efforts in Bristol.
