Business Development Manager appointed to strengthen fleet services

Alt text not availableNational Windscreens, the UK’s largest independently owned windscreen repair and replacement specialist, has further strengthened its service for fleet operators with the appointment of an additional business development manager, James Cook.

With 14 years’ experience in direct sales and business development for national companies, including five years working in the automotive glazing sector, James will play a critical role in ensuring National Windscreens maintains its position as the UK’s leading supplier of fleet glazing services.

National Windscreens managing director, Pete Marsden, says: “We are delighted to welcome James as part of our dedicated team where he will be working alongside fleet manager Nick Broughall to ensure all our customers continue to receive the best possible proactive service.

“His knowledge and ideas will be invaluable as we strive to further increase the number of fleets we support. 95 out of the top 100 HGV fleets are contracted to National Windscreens.

“We are also the primary supplier to more than 30 car fleets in FN50 and three of the top five daily rental fleets so this appointment will enable us to further build on our success in this sector,” he added.

James said: “Fleet customers are very important to us as a company and a key factor that made me join National Windscreens is the commitment to a UK-wide network of 108 fitting and calibration centres and 800 mobile technicians. This means fleet drivers are never more than 20 minutes or 11 miles away from a technician.

“The company’s foresight in developing these centres has been a key factor in firmly establishing National Windscreens as the leading provider of automotive glazing services to the UK fleet sector.

With an increasing number of new vehicles having Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) fitted as standard, predicted to be 40% of vehicles with such systems by 2020, this national network is now even more critical to effectively servicing the needs of fleet operators.

“National Windscreens has already undertaken over 2,800 calibrations of these cameras following windscreen replacement. With over 75% of manufacturers stating this calibration is best done in workshop conditions, National Windscreens is the only operator in this sector equipped to provide fleet operators with a UK wide, one stop service for replacement and calibration.”
