Ten technicians from across Sweden travelled to the UK to work in London for two weeks in a landmark exchange between National Windscreens and its largest member, Cary Group. The Swedish technicians worked at some of the highest volume fitting centres in the UK: Croydon, Crawley, Watford, Dartford and Romford.
The two-week period gave an ideal opportunity for the technicians to speak with and work alongside their counterparts to exchange the best practices within Cary Group and compare them to those used by National Windscreens. There were valuable lessons regarding the different technologies including ADAS calibration equipment used across the markets. The exchange helped to bolster the transfer of knowledge between the technicians from both countries.
Fredrik Karlsson, managing director of Cary Group in Sweden, said: “This is the first time of doing a cross-country exchange at fitting centre level, and we are pleased with the response from our staff. It is an excellent opportunity to give our employees a unique professional adventure. The collaboration has been very successful, both from our side and from National Windscreen's side, and we hope for more of these exchanges moving forward."
Andy Rae, operations director, comments: “We were thrilled to welcome the technicians from Cary Group for this collaboration. It was interesting to see how the practices of the technicians differ. Enhancing the skills of our team is at the forefront of everything that we do, so we embraced bringing over the technicians to compare the differing approaches of the UK and Swedish teams.
“Sharing innovations, skills and practices through our network is an essential function of the business to continue to improve the service for our customers,” said Andy.
