National Windscreens is actively and continuously monitoring the Covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak, and we maintain policies in line with the recommendations of Public Health England and WHO (World Health Organisation).
The safety of our colleagues, customers and partners is our priority. Our staff follow our Coronavirus protocols strictly, at all of our locations and at any site where we are carrying out work. Prior to any site visit, we will establish if anyone at the address has recently travelled to any of the affected areas (see our ‘Travel & Office Visitor Advice) and, if applicable, we will postpone any visit until after the advised period. We will keep a central record of any such instances where work has not been carried out for this reason.
There is advice and guidance available online at gov.uk and nhs.uk .
Supply Chain
It has been reported that the reopening of some factories after Chinese New Year has been delayed and some shipping carrying plant and materials have been unable to leave China. Production has now resumed for at least two automotive glass manufacturers. In addition, Pilkington has re-sourced affected parts produced in China from other plants around the world, where tooling already exists, to avert supply shortages. Factories in northern Italy have taken similar steps.
We have already significantly increased our stock holding in the UK to mitigate against any potential disruption at UK ports following Brexit. Accordingly, any interruption in supply from China is balanced by stock depths that are sufficient for us to continue delivering a high quality and timely service.
This statement will be regularly updated as the latest advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England (PHE) and other sources becomes available.
