National Windscreens has appointed Craig Gibson as environmental, social and governance (ESG) manager. Craig takes responsibility for continued development of a global best practice sustainability strategy and its delivery in the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
“ESG is integral for our insurance and fleet customers. Being able to demonstrate effective emission reduction strategies will be a defining factor in the automotive glazing sector over the next years. We also know that a truly diverse and inclusive workforce is at the heart of our continued success,” said Craig.
“My experience in operations and training gives me a detailed understanding of the industry and our operations at National Windscreens. This insight will be invaluable for the decarbonisation of the business and will bolster our strategy of transitioning away from fossil fuel for our fleet of vehicles, branch network and distribution operations.
“We understand the nature of the global impact of climate change. As a founding member of Automotive Glass Experts (AGE) we have proven partnerships that help guide our implementation of global best practice initiatives. We work closely with our suppliers to understand the overall impact through Scope 1, 2 and 3 of the supply chain. Our commitment to SBTi (science-based target initiatives), Plan Vivo and Worldfavor all show the intent we have as a business regarding environmental issues and social responsibility,” added Craig.
Craig joined the team in 2003 as a trainee technician working at the Southampton branch. He achieved NVQ level 2 and 3 qualifications before being promoted to regional trainer and NVQ assessor.
Craig commented: “I’m excited to be starting the next chapter of my career at National Windscreens. During my 20 years with the company, I have been encouraged to progress at every stage. I have been supported to undertake qualifications that have helped me evolve, including ADAS and electric vehicle (EV) awareness. Now, I am in the process of completing the IEMA recognised qualifications for my new role."
