National Windscreens is developing its fitting and calibration centre network across the UK, focusing on sustainability and enhancing the fitting centre experience. The business is planning to expand its locations over the coming years, a strategy driven by the increasing number of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations required when repairing and replacing vehicle glass.
Andy Rae, operations director, said: “The business is investing heavily in elevating the customer experience and creating a consistent brand across the UK. A key consideration for our fitting centres is the proliferation of ADAS technology, which requires larger sites with extra bays for the technicians to work in and puts greater emphasis on the provision of comfortable and well-equipped waiting areas for the customer.
National Windscreens is evolving its current infrastructure.
“We are committed to generating the highest level of customer satisfaction ever seen in the automotive glazing industry. We are reviewing the construction, renovation, and refurbishment of the sites, and streamlining our contractor relationships. We are evolving the current infrastructure to deliver even more efficiency for the customer and to provide productive and safe conditions for the technicians.
“I am delighted with the appointment of Simon Williams as facilities manager to oversee the project. Simon is responsible for developing the operational footprint of the business. He has a vast range of experience with the UK’s largest supermarket chains so bringing him into the business as the project leader is a huge boost to our operational capacity,” said Andy.
Simon Williams is responsible for the development of the National Windscreens infrastructure.
Simon Williams comments: “Since joining National Windscreens, I have visited almost every fitting centres and have gained an in-depth understanding of the business. My responsibilities include the maintenance of the infrastructure and identifying suitable new sites.
“I focus on assessing the individual requirements at each fitting centre, including the installation of EV charge points and energy efficient LED lighting across the business is a top priority. There are six fitting centres being refurbished currently, with 16 more sites planned for development in 2025, so continue to watch this space!” said Simon.
