National Windscreens is delighted to be sponsoring the Saloon Car Championship based at the Castle Combe circuit for the 2017 season.
The UK’s largest independently owned windscreen repair and replacement company first became associated with the Chippenham-based circuit in 1993 and has now renewed the partnership which will see all race cars display a National Windscreens logo.
Martyn Bennett, regional sales and marketing director at National Windscreens said: “We are delighted to have our name associated with one of the best circuit based saloon car championships in the UK.
“I am pleased to see the championship, which started on Monday, has some phenomenal cars which are very exciting to watch,” he added.
The big attraction of this championship is the wide diversity of eligible cars capable of being competitive. While nimble front wheel drive hatches have traditionally been favourites there is now a competitive group of turbocharged cars featuring in the results.
Any 2 wheel drive production saloons manufactured in the 21st century are eligible and the championship is split into 4 classes, from which any class can provide the outright winner.
Martyn comments: “We are proud to associate our brand with this premier UK motoring event and the opportunities it provides to showcase our services to such a wide range of car and racing enthusiasts.
“National Windscreens is proud of its support for all motorists through its truly UK-wide network of 108 fitting centres, meaning a motorist will never be more than 20 minutes or 11 miles from a technician.
“The company also has a specialist glass division and innovative Partscheck software that means replacement glass can be quickly found for even the rarest vehicles being driven,” he added.
National Windscreens staff are also being encouraged to follow the championship and Sarah Ironmonger, who is an administrator at the Reading fitting centre, won tickets to attend the first race of the season and is pictured meeting race winner Gary Prebble who last took the title in 2015.
Prebble, who broke his lap record from 2016, won by an incredibly comfortable 15 seconds from Bill Brockbank in second and Will Di Claudio third.
The next race is on Monday (May 1) with subsequent ones on Monday 29th May, Saturday 15th July, Sunday 13th August, Monday 28th August and Saturday 14th October.
