In recent months, National Windscreens worked closely with the RAC, one of the UK’s most historic and recognisable automotive brands, to provide inspections of their vehicles at various regional staff conference events across the UK. National Windscreens attended 19 sites across the country including Falkirk, Newcastle, Lingfield, Exeter, Cheltenham and Bath. The technicians undertook inspections of the fleet across these sites, resulting in a number of windscreen repairs which prevented the need for more expensive replacements in the future.
The nationwide coverage that National Windscreens possesses allowed the team to organise the inspections at these regional events, making it as convenient as possible for the RAC. The RAC has over 125 years of history of providing complete peace of mind to over 12.7m UK personal and business members, with services ranging from breakdown assistance to insurance and a range of other motoring services.
Dawn Milne, regional key account manager at National Windscreens, said: “This mobile inspection campaign was very successful and allowed our technicians to provide a proactive service. We understand that issues with fleet vehicles need to be fixed as fast as possible, getting the vehicle back to work and minimising downtime is essential. We are proud of our relationship with the RAC, a pioneering company and highly recognisable brand within the automotive industry.
“Despite the logistical challenges presented through Covid, we worked with RAC to ensure the winter readiness by undertaking the campaign before the onset of the cold weather. This will have certainly prevented some of the windscreen repairs from becoming glass replacements. The success of the campaign has provided many lessons to create an effective template for our larger fleet customers moving forward.”
RAC fleet manager Matt Hilliar said: “National Windscreens provided us with an impressive servicing option that enabled our fleet to be checked in a very convenient manner at our regional conferences across the country which avoided an extremely time-consuming administrative process.”
