National Windscreens, the UK’s largest independently-owned windscreen repair and replacement specialist, is celebrating phenomenal growth of more than 400% and is now creating even more jobs throughout the UK to support its future growth plans.
Over the last decade, the number of repairs or replacements completed by the company has grown by an incredible 444% – figures that now see the company launch a major recruitment campaign across the UK for technicians and engineers to help fuel even more growth in the future.
Pete Marsden, managing director at National Windscreens, says: “These figures pay testament to the fact we are now the autoglazing repair or replacement provider of choice for many of the UK’s largest insurers and fleet operators.
“The fact we enjoy sole supplier status with so many insurers and fleet operators has led to this massive growth,” he added.
To ensure National Windscreens meets its continued growth targets, the company has recently invested over £2 million in ensuring its UK-wide network of 108 fitting and calibration centres offers a market-leading service for calibration of advanced drive assistance systems (ADAS). In the last 12 months alone, the company has opened new fitting and calibration centres in Inverness, Dartford, Birmingham, Belfast, Hereford, Bangor, Romford and York. In addition, National Windscreens technicians have become the first in the UK to achieve ADAS qualifications from national awarding body GQA Qualifications.
Pete adds: “These new centres show the company’s commitment to maintaining a truly national network of fitting and calibration centres. This means that windscreen replacement and calibration can be undertaken during the same visit and means that, on average, a UK motorist will be only 11 miles or 20 minutes away from a technician.
“By 2020, it is predicted that 40% of vehicles on UK roads will have ADAS fitted as standard and this informed our decision to invest in centres that provide repair, replacement and calibration all under one roof, supported by 800 mobile units, with technicians appropriately trained and certified.
But it is not just commitment to maintaining a UK wide network that is delivering this outstanding growth.
Pete explains: “Our on-going educational campaign to raise awareness of what ADAS is and the implications that calibration has for insurers, fleet operators and motorists – from costs to safety – is paying dividends as more and more companies turn to us for a service they can trust to deliver on these critical issues.
“But the trust on which this growth is built also comes from a total commitment to quality from ISO27001 accreditation for our information security management system (ISMS) to ISO9001 certified quality systems,” he added.
